Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No, you can start your 30 Day Free Trial of Symbly today, no credit card required. If you want to continue your subscription after the free trial period is over, we’ll ask for your payment information then.
What can I do during the trial?
During the trial we’ll give you a free subscription so you can give Symbly a try. Your trial account will have full access to Symbly, and you can create, share, print, and even use the Symbly iPad app. You’ll be able to sync up to 2 iPads, upload up to 100MB (around 300 photos) of custom images, and join up to five private teams (and unlimited public teams).
What is meant by unlimited?
You are free to create and share as many visual supports as you want, with as many people as you want, within normal, reasonable expectation. For more information, see our Terms of Service.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription easily from your My Account page after you sign up. Canceling Symbly is an instantaneous and no questions asked process. We won’t try to trap or trick you into staying, although we would be very sorry to see you go!
Do you offer special pricing for “semester-ware” or workshops?
If you’re a professor or presenter who is interested in using Symbly with a class or workshop, and would like to inquire about free subscriptions for yourself and your students/participants, please get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Let us know a little about yourself, the course/workshop, and the number of participants.
You are free to choose whichever plan best fits your needs. If you only use visual supports with a limited number of clients, the Personal account may be all you need. You can also use the Personal account if you want to start using Symbly with part of your caseload while you transition between software. You can upgrade your account type at any time, so if your needs change, we’ve got you covered.
Can I download Symbly? Are there any updates to install?
No. Symbly is a hosted web service.We do not have plans to make a downloadable version, partially because our unique hosting, sharing, and syncing architecture is such a strong point of our service. You’re always running the latest “version” of Symbly, there are never any updates to install or buy.
I want to share the supports I create with others; will they need a Symbly account, too?
You can share the supports you create on Symbly with anyone, even if they don’t have a Symbly account, with one click by sending them a special link. They’ll be able to access the supports you share as a guest, allowing them to view the support or print it. They only need to create their own account if they want to copy or edit a support themselves.
For example, you can share supports with a parent, and they can access them to print from anywhere. Or if you have a lab of computers at school that you want to have students view interactive supports on, there’s no need to buy multiple subscriptions or “viewer licenses”. Just create a bookmark on each viewer computer to the supports you want the students to view and you’re all set — they won’t even have to enter any login credentials!
